Mission Statement: (See Web Site For Updated Information)
uqu Kawoq | Maya Health Alliance is a major provider of primary health care and related social services in indigenous Kaqchikel and Kichee communities in central Guatemala. We were founded out of the conviction that excellent health care requires attention to the many cultural, lingistic, and logistical barriers that prevent indigenous patients in Guatemala from receiving the services they need. Therefore, most of our work occurs in Mayan languages, and we work closely with our partner communities to build consensus around joint health projects. All our services, including physician visits and medications, are provided at no cost.
